Crosscall, the European manufacturer known for its tough, enterprise-ready smartphones, is making its UK debut through a new partnership with BT Group. From the 30th of September, businesses across the UK will be able to get their hands on Crosscall’s range of durable and sustainable mobile devices for the first time.
Crosscall has built a reputation across Europe for its rugged smartphones and tablets, designed to withstand the harshest environments. The company’s devices are engineered for longevity, offering a 5-year warranty on all models, including coverage for battery life issues. What sets Crosscall apart is its focus on sustainability. The devices are designed to be easily repaired, with spare parts guaranteed for 10 years—a clear effort to reduce electronic waste and extend the life of each device.
One of the latest additions to their lineup, the STELLAR-X5, reflects this eco-conscious approach, incorporating 26% recycled materials into its design. This dedication to sustainable production has earned Crosscall a Gold Medal from Ecovadis, ranking the company among the top 5% of global businesses for corporate social responsibility (CSR). This accolade ties in with BT’s ongoing efforts to achieve net-zero carbon emissions and aligns with their broader sustainability goals.
Sally Fuller, from BT, shared her thoughts on the new partnership: “As the first operator in the UK to sell Crosscall’s handsets, we’re excited to offer our customers rugged devices that not only come with extended warranties but also align with our own sustainability goals. Crosscall’s commitment to reducing its environmental impact complements BT’s work in reducing carbon emissions both within our operations and across our supply chain.”
The partnership signals an opportunity for UK businesses, particularly those in sectors where reliable, hard-wearing technology is essential, such as construction, transport, and public safety. Crosscall’s devices are already popular with major European organisations, including the French National Police and SNCF, the French railway operator. Their tech is built to handle tough conditions, making them an attractive choice for those working in demanding environments.
Matthew Burchell from Crosscall explained the significance of the move: “Partnering with BT gives us a fantastic opportunity to reach UK professionals who need technology they can rely on. Our devices have proven their worth across Europe, and we’re eager to bring that same durability and sustainability to the UK market.”
Crosscall will be showcasing their latest products, including the CORE-Z5 and STELLAR-X5 smartphones, at the Emergency Tech Show in Birmingham on the 18th and 19th of September. The event will give key figures from public and private sectors, particularly those working in security and emergency services, the chance to see Crosscall’s innovative solutions up close. This partnership with BT could be a game-changer for businesses in the UK that require robust, reliable technology without sacrificing sustainability.
