Nokia XR21
The Nokia XR21 5G is the direct successor to the Nokia XR20 announced back in 2021. The device continues it rugged theme with an IP68/IP69K rating and MIL-STD-810H certification, ensuring resistance to dust, water immersion up to 1.5 meters for 60 minutes, and drops from up to 1.8 meters. However, it has a slightly more compact and lighter design compared to the XR20, measuring 168 x 78.6 x 10.5 mm and weighing 231 grams.
The Nokia XR21 features a 6.49-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, offering a slightly higher pixel density of 406 PPI compared to the XR20. Notably, the display now supports a 120Hz refresh rate for smoother visuals, a key improvement over the 60Hz screen on the XR20. The screen remains protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus.
The device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 5G chipset, another upgrade over the XR20’s Snapdragon 480. It comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, expandable up to 1TB via a dedicated SD card slot.
The camera system has also seen enhancements. The main rear camera is now a 64MP sensor with PDAF, alongside an 8MP ultrawide lens. The front camera has been upgraded to 16MP, compared to the 8MP camera found on the XR20.
Connectivity options include NFC, Bluetooth 5.1, Wi-Fi (2.4G and 5G), and USB Type-C 2.0. The navigation system supports GPS, GLONASS, and Galileo, and the device includes sensors like a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, accelerometer, gyro, proximity sensor, compass, and barometer.
The Nokia XR21 5G is equipped with a 4630mAh battery, supporting 18W fast wired charging and 15W wireless charging. It also features dual stereo speakers, while running Google Android 12 OS out of the box.
