Ruggex Palm Plus
The Ruggex Palm Plus is the direct successor to the Ruggex Palm Pro. While it shares some core features with its predecessor, several key upgrades make it stand out.
Starting from the screen, the Palm Plus has a larger 10.1-inch IPS LCD display with a higher resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels, providing a sharper pixel density of 286 PPI compared to the Palm Pro’s 8.0-inch screen and 1280 x 800 pixels resolution. This makes it more suitable for detailed tasks and enhanced clarity.
It retains IP68 and Mil-STD-810G certifications for ruggedness but has a more durable drop-to-resistance of 1.2m, compared to the previous model’s unspecified drop resistance. However, the Palm Plus is significantly heavier, weighing 1,110 grams, and measures 277 x 183 x 19 mm, making it larger and bulkier than the Palm Pro which weighs at just 810 grams.
The tablet runs on Android 10, an upgrade from the Palm Pro’s Android 7.1 Nougat. Both tablets use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset with an octa-core 2.0 GHz Cortex-A53 processor and Adreno 506 GPU, but the Palm Plus benefits from the newer operating system.
The memory configuration remains the same, with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, along with support for SD card expansion via a dedicated slot. Camera features also remain consistent, with a 13MP rear camera with PDAF and a 5MP fixed-focus selfie camera.
Finally, power on the Palm Plus is supplied by a 10,000mAh non-removable battery, which is identical to the Palm Pro’s. Optional features include a LF RFID and UHF RFID and a 1D/2D barcode reader, similar to the Palm Pro.
