Our Rating

  • Overall Average 7 / 10

The Ruggex Rhino Four is the successor to the Ruggex Rhino Three, offering a few key improvements. Like its predecessors, it prioritizes durability with an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance up to 1 meter for 60 minutes, and MIL-SPEC-810G certification for drop resistance up to 6 feet (1.8 meters).

The Rhino Four maintains the same display size (4.0-inch) but reduces the resolution to 800 x 480 pixels compared to the Rhino Three’s 540 x 960 pixels. However, it upgrades the display protection to Gorilla Glass from Rhino Three’s Rhino Glass.

The Rhino Four retains the same Google Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) operating system and internal storage capacity (8GB) as the Rhino Three. It also keeps the same camera system with an 8MP single rear camera with PDAF, a 2MP front-facing camera, and 720p video recording capability. Both phones utilize a Micro USB 2.0 port and a removable 2500mAh battery.

The most significant upgrade in the Rhino Four is the addition of 4G LTE connectivity, which the Rhino Three lacked. The Rhino Four supports LTE bands 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, and 20, providing faster data transfer speeds. Additionally, the Rhino Four boasts a slightly lighter weight (225 grams compared to the Rhino Three’s 259 grams).
