Our Rating

The rating below is a collection of user reviews and expert opinions from our in-house writers and other reviewers across the web.

8
  • Overall Average 8 / 10

Sonim XP7 is the higher model to the Sonim XP6. It was also released in November 2014, but availability was delayed until May of 2015. It came with the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 CPU, has 1GB RAM, and runs Android 4.4.2 Kitkat out of the box. But the model has 16GB ROM up from 8GB, and a larger 4.0-inches full touch display, up from 2.63 touch screen on the XP6.

The XP7 is also a rugged device, and it comes with an IP69 rating for dust and water resistance. The 4.0-inch display on the front also has Corning Gorilla Glass 2 protection, which adds to the overall durability of the phone.

As for the camera specs, while the rear side retains the same 8-megapixel main sensor used on the older model, Sonim decided to add a simple 1-megapixel selfie camera to the front of the XP7. Other specifications of the device are contained in the table below.
