Ulefone Armor 28 Ultra is the World’s First Rugged Smartphone with Dimensity 9300+ CPU

Ulefone has unveiled the Armor 28 Ultra, marking it as the first rugged smartphone globally to feature the Mediatek Dimensity 9300+ CPU. The device was announced at the ongoing IFA conference in Berlin, and it is expected to be officially released later in November.

As you’d expect, the Armor 28 Ultra is the direct successor to the Armor 27 series. But unlike the Armor 27, the 28 Ultra coms with a dedicated Night camera, a dedicated thermal imaging sensor along with the two other main and ultrawide lenses. This is the reason why this device is also known as Ulefone Armor 28 Ultra Thermal Edition.

The Design

As with previous models in the Armor series, the Armor 28 Ultra is designed to endure harsh conditions. It boasts IP68/IP69K and Mil-STD-810H certifications, meaning it’s resistant to dust, water, and drops.

Specifically, it can survive being submerged in water up to 2 meters deep for 30 minutes and can withstand drops from heights of up to 2 meters onto concrete. This makes it a reliable choice for outdoor enthusiasts and professionals who work in tough environments.

Performance and Power

The Armor 28 Ultra is powered by the Dimensity 9300+ chipset, a cutting-edge processor built on a 4nm process. To give you better understanding, this is the same flagship CPU that has been used in many top-end smartphones like the Vivo X100 Pro, OPPO Find 7, the Redmi K70 Ultra, and upcoming smartphones like the Xiaomi 14T Pro.

The CPU includes a mix of one Cortex-X4 core at 3.25 GHz, three Cortex-X4 cores at 2.85 GHz, and four Cortex-A720 cores at 2.0 GHz. This combination ensures that the phone can handle demanding tasks, from gaming to multitasking, with ease.

The Display

Coming to the display, the Armor 28 Ultra features a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. The screen is incredibly bright, with a maximum brightness of 2200 nits, ensuring clear visibility even under direct sunlight.

For comparison sake, and for you to better understand what this means, the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra has a peak brightness of 2600 nits, while the almighty Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max peaks at 2000 nits. Additionally, there’s a secondary rear display, adding more functionality and convenience for users.

Camera System

On the camera wing, the Armor 28 Ultra is equipped with a versatile camera setup. This includes a 50MP main sensor, a 50MP ultrawide lens, a 64MP night vision camera with dual infrared LEDs, and a thermal imaging lens from ThermoVue Pro. This array allows users to capture high-quality images and videos in a wide range of conditions, whether in bright daylight or complete darkness.

If selfie is important to you, Ulefone also did include a 50-megapixel sensor on the front crisp image outputs.

Battery Life and Charging

Battery life is another strong point for the Armor 28 Ultra. It comes with a 10600mAh battery that supports 120W fast charging, 50W wireless charging, and 10W reverse charging. This ensures that the phone can keep going throughout the day, even with heavy usage, and can be quickly recharged when needed.

Connectivity and Features

As for connectivity, the Armor 28 Ultra supports both 4G and 5G across a wide range of bands, offering fast and reliable connectivity. It also includes Bluetooth 5.4, WiFi 6/7, NFC, and USB Type-C. Pricing and Availability

The Ulefone Armor 28 Ultra is available only in Black colors. As stated above, the phone is not available for purchase yet. Ulefone did announced that the Armor 28 Ultra will hit the shelves later in November this year.
